Meet the Team
President
She/Her
Thea Koss
Thea Koss is currently a senior majoring in Fashion Business Management and minoring in both History of Art and International Politics. This is her third year as part of SGA, previously holding the positions of Chief of Staff and Senator for Residential Students. She loves being involved in campus life and attending as many FIT events as possible. As President, she aims to build further trust with the student body, and is excited to work closely with faculty and administration to advocate for further transparency and collaboration and cultivate a more positive environment for all. Outside of school, she spends her time reading at various New York City parks, hanging out with friends, FaceTiming her dogs, and playing geography quizzes online.

Vice President

Mia Kim
Mia Kim, the Vice President of the FIT Student Government Association, is a third-year Fashion Design student at FIT. As Vice President, she hopes to strengthen communication and collaboration between the Senators and other members of SGA. She believes that improving these core skills will inspire new ideas and foster further improvements within FIT. This is Mia’s second year in SGA; previously, she served as the Secretary of Academic Affairs. In addition to being a member of SGA, Mia is also a member of the Presidential Scholars Program and an Orientation Leader. Mia loves to play the viola. Outside of school, she plays with the New York Session Symphony and occasionally volunteers around the NYC community.

Chief Of Staff
Onata Aprile
She/Her
Onata Aprile is majoring in Advertising and Digital Design and has a minor in History of Art. On the Executive board, she aims to bring an overall sense of belonging for all students part of the FIT community. Serving as an Orientation leader this year and last was a great experience for her as she got to welcome new students to the college. Previously serving as the Senator for Accessibility, she will continue advocating for improved infrastructure and services for students with disabilities. She grew up in New York City and loves it so much that she never plans to leave. She also cannot drive, so leaving would be difficult anyway.

Rod Lapuz
Rod Lapuz is a junior at FIT, majoring in Advertising and Marketing Communications and will be serving as this year's Director of Communications. With goals to not only continue but strengthen SGA’s strong social media presence, he hopes to reflect FIT's vibrant mix of creativity and drive. Raised in Queens, he grew up exploring different cuisines and hobbies and is always down to have a fun chat in the elevator. He loves Dungeons and Dragons, pop music, shopping, or a fun math problem.
