Who we are
I am an international student from India and this is my second year serving in the Student Government Association here at FIT. I am a big believer in "progress over perfection." In my free time, I love to travel and paint.
As President of the Student Government Association, I hope to be the voice of the entire student community here at FIT and remain grounded in what is right in the face of any threat or opposition. With the pandemic, I believe it is crucial to strengthen the foundation between the students and administration and be an example of hope for the student body.

Before coming to FIT, I studied Fashion Marketing in Paris and worked in the digital marketing/e-commerce field in Tokyo. I was also born and raised in Japan. My favorite spot in Tokyo is MOT (Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo).
As the Director of Communication, I hope to bring the whole community together with the power of communication.

I'm originally from Mexico City and have been living in the US for 4 years now. I love art and design and love to spend a day at a museum and with friends.
I want to create resources for students facing housing and food insecurity, since this is the first step to make sure everyone at FIT has an equal opportunity at being equal in school. Last year I created care kits for students in Emergency situations, and am hoping this year to continue the program and expand to other areas.

Hi my name is Greta and I'm your senator for Textile/Surface Design. This is my senior year here at FIT. I love getting involved on campus and along with serving on SGA I'm an RA in Nagler hall.
My passion for getting involved on campus stems from my desire to listen to and promote the voices of students around me. I hope to be a direct connection between FITs student population and the legislation that affects their life on campus.

I’m a TDM senior interested in climate action, with a focus on sustainable fiber systems, textile ecology, and stewardship. I have experience in color management, sourcing, and fiber arts. For fun, I like to propagate plants, thrift, and hang out with my cat.
Continue to work on the Sustainability Committee to expand our textile recycling efforts on campus; Creating accessible opportunities for involvement in FIT's Natural Dye Garden and campus green spaces; Advocating for TDM students and create networking and career development through our AATCC TDM Club

I run a small business for art and jewelry. I LOVE the color pink. I have a cat named Dory and she has thumbs.
I will encourage collaboration between clubs and help make the process to fund clubs easier. I hope to resolve club issues with consistent and encourage thoughtful communication between the various officers and myself.

Hi! I’m Brenna (she, her, hers). I’m a senior in Fashion Design with an Intimate Apparel Specialization. I am returning from a gap year, so I was at the school for two years pre-pandemic. I have seen the changes throughout the years and I believe I have a strong understanding of what needs improvement. Please come to me with any of your concerns or questions regarding the Fashion Design or Menswear Departments. I am always happy to help and I love to meet new people!

Senator for International Students
Hi everyone!! This is Aastha, a junior majoring in FBM and president of ICS. As an international student from India, I hope to make all the students from around the globe feel welcomed and safe here at FIT.
Every semester FIT welcomes numerous international students and with covid, a lot of them faced difficulties majority of it was to coordinate classes with huge time difference. Being an international student myself, my aim with the position I have been given is to make sure their issues are heard and have them accommodated as much as possible.

I am a senior studying Textile Development and Marketing with minors in Asian Studies and International Politics. In my free time I love making Spotify playlists, going out to eat with friends, and drinking too many matcha lemonades.
I have been in my role for three years now, each year working with Alumni Relations and Career and Internship services to help students achieve their career goals. This year, I hope to continue to work with them both to host networking events and to improve alumni and current student relations.

Hi Guys! My name is Brooke Singer and I am currently a junior specializing in Fashion Design/Direct Marketing while minoring in ethics/sustainability and psychology. In my free time I play for the New York Women’s Professional Football team and love to cook vegan food. Im looking forward to serving my first term this year and continuing the push for a more sustainable FIT!
A few of my goals surrounding my current position in SGA involve the open and honest discussion surrounding FIT's sustainable practices and follow through. We MUST set a leading example surrounding the future of sustainable fashion. Which can include implementing a large fabric recycling initiative, enrolling FIT in a Green School Fellowship Program, and prioritizing sustainability in every decision made across SGA.

Hi I'm Marley! I'm a sophomore studying textile development. I currently live in Brooklyn, but I'm originally from Toronto, Canada. As a commuter student, it can be hard travelling around the city alone. I'm excited to be apart of the SGA, and to help other commuter student!
I've been a commuter student for a year now, and i have been able to make friends, learn my way around the city, and feel safe and comfortable travelling alone. i want to provide new commuter students with information i didn't have when i first moved to nyc. Also, i have a diverse perspective because i am an international student, so i can provide my tips for settling in a new country.

Jasmine is a Direct and Interactive Marketing senior who’s also a first-gen college student from her Ecuadorian family. Hi all! I'm Ruki, I'm a third-year Fine Arts major, also double minoring in Art History and African American & Africana Studies. I am a Presidential Scholar and also part of the Black Student Union at FIT. I love painting, baking, gaming, horror/thriller films, and going to rock concerts (34 and counting!).
I will work with Fine Arts Chair Stephanie Pierce and the Fine Arts community to communicate student and faculty thoughts, questions, and concerns back to Student Government. I am committed to making all FA students feel welcome and secure as they seek out their education here at FIT.

As a transfer student in my senior year at FIT, I’ve had nothing short of an incredible experience both in the city and at FIT. I am originally from the high arctic region in Canada until I moved into my university studies in Toronto, Canada. There I studied International Relationships and Fashion Business Management. You can find me at the SGA senate, ITSA club president, and as a cultural follow on campus !
I hope to advocate for ITM to grow a stronger on campus presence through collaboration, information and communication. I’d also love to see more opportunities for ITM student to explore global opportunities whether that be virtually or in person.
